What style should your website have?

You do not need to know the name of a design style. Use these four directions to discover what suits your business and what customers need to do on your website.

Illustrated design directions — not finished templates or client work.

Quiet & simple

Whitespace, few colours and clear typography help customers find your services and contact details.

Useful for consultants, clinics and businesses with a focused offer. Avoid removing information customers need.

Warm & natural

Earth tones, everyday photography and soft contrasts create a personal feel.

Useful for crafts, nature and experiences. Use your own photos so the mood reflects your business.

Classic & editorial

Large images, distinctive headings and carefully chosen details put your work first.

Useful for architecture, interiors and specialist services. Keep body copy easy to read, including on phones.

Colourful & energetic

A strong accent colour and clear shapes give the page personality and highlight actions.

Useful for sports, events and creative businesses. Choose one main focus so colours and motion do not compete.

How to choose a direction

Choose two examples you like and explain why: the colours, photography, calmness or typography. Tell us who your customer is and whether the goal is a call, booking or enquiry. You can combine elements from different directions.
